Welcome! In this unit, you will explore the process of searching for a job. As you learn how to find your ideal job, you will also learn about yourself. You will examine your own learning style, determine your preferred learning strategies, and think about your strengths and the skills you want to improve. You will also enhance your Spanish language skills and further develop abilities such as summarizing, paraphrasing, reading between the lines, and using the proper register.

As you go through the unit, we'll ask you to think about your personal goals. These can be as simple as you want. Anything you set as a goal is worthwhile. Like some of the people you will meet here, you, too, can make great strides toward success.

This unit is organized into themes. You can go through them any way you please; however, we recommend you do Theme 1 before any of the others. Within each theme there are five parts:

• Introduction to the theme
   
• Personal Voice: Personal reflections by real people
   
• Exploring and Preparing: Different activities to help you explore each theme
   
• Your Turn: Personal tasks for you to do
   
• Reflection: A space for you to express your own voice
