Welcome! Today is August 20, 2008

Contractual Opportunities

The NFLC hires foreign language consultants on a regular basis. The majority of these consultant roles are carried out from one's home computer and require creating and/or reviewing materials for our LangNet project. We particularly look for consultants who are native or near-native speakers of the less commonly taught languages in the U.S. Experienced language instructors, language test developers and reviewers, foreign language editors, and audio narrators are encouraged to apply for opportunities. While we welcome and encourage resumes from anyone interested in working on our projects, at this time, we are specifically seeking applicants for the following opportunities:

Bambara, North Korean, and Shona Language Professionals (LangNet Project)

We have an immediate need for foreign language professionals who speak, read, and type in Bambara, North Korean, or Shona. To apply, please email your resume to recruiting@nflc.org.

Najdi Arabic Narrators and Lesson Content Reviewers (Arabic Variants Identification Project)

We are seeking native Najdi (central Saudi Arabian) Arabic speakers as narrators and lesson content reviewers for a multimedia project on Arabic Variants Identification. Narrators must be able to record at our College Park, Maryland office. We will consider applicants for narrator who are not local (travel/lodging expenses will be covered). These are short-term contractual assignments (estimated timeframe - mid-late summer). For more information, please contact Margo Rice, Project Manager, at 301.405.9827 or mrice@nflc.org.
