Mission

The NFLC's mission is to improve the capacity of the U.S. to communicate in languages other than English. We implement that mission through intensive and innovative strategic planning and development with globalized institutions, organizations, and enterprises throughout the U.S.

The NFLC pursues its mission through partnerships with private businesses, government agencies, educational institutions and organizations, foreign governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and individual scholars and policy makers from around the world.

Through research, collaborations, consultations, and projects, the staff and the fellows of the NFLC are dedicated to improving the nation's ability to understand and communicate with people around the world and to manage the unprecedented flow of information resulting from globalization.
