Policy Forum Schedule for Fall 2000

Tuesday, September 26, 2000

The NFLC Policy Forum series for fall 2000 featured two sessions. On October 18, 2000, Myriam Met, Senior Associate for K-12 Programs at the NFLC, led a discussion on the question, "Does Bilingual Education Work?" On November 8, 2000, John Vaughn, Executive Director of the American Association of Universities, and Richard D. Lambert, Director Emeritus of the NFLC engaged forum attendees on the topic of "Future Directions for International Education."

The forums are informal gatherings of policy leaders, researchers, language teachers, and interested citizens, devoted to the in-depth examination of critical issues in language and national policy. Distinguished leaders in language and policy matters introduce a subject and lead a roundtable discussion of that subject with those present.
