Read Arabic!

Funded by an International Research and Studies grant from the US Department of Education, Read Arabic! responds to rapidly increasing interest in Arabic language study and addresses the critical need for high quality reading materials for beginning high school learners of Modern Standard Arabic.
Developed under the guidance of Professor Emeritus Gerald Lampe of the University of Maryland, these e-learning materials offer learners a chance to practice basic reading for comprehension through a series of carefully framed exercises addressing useful and contemporary topics, such as the geography and history of the Arabic-speaking world; everyday life and environment; family and friends; and art, music, and culture.The lessons also include cultural background notes to provide thecontext critical for understanding.
